New product information for LP樂彼, known as "小金砖" in mainland China
LUXURY & PRECISION (hereafter referred to as LP) has announced the upcoming release of the "W4-ACG," believed to be the next-generation model of their flagship dongle-type DAC "W4," and the "WY1 Special Edition" power-separated USB cable. Since the release of images of both products, anticipation has been building, and now their imminent domestic release has finally been announced.
In the Chinese audio world, "Jin Zhuan" (golden brick) is widely known as an affectionate nickname for popular DAPs, signifying "the luxury of being carved entirely from a block of oxygen-free copper" and "a weighty appearance with difficult-to-apply gold plating." "Jin Zhuan" is synonymous with "overwhelming attention to detail and high quality" and "supreme sound created by a copper chassis." With these new products, LP has affectionately dubbed them "Xiao Jin Zhuan" (small golden brick), embodying their confidence and pride in creating the ultimate luxurious palm-sized audio devices.
Regarding these highly anticipated products, final adjustments have been made based on listening feedback from a headphone event in Shanghai and user opinions, and mass production is now underway.
Here are the features of LP's new models, "W4-ACG" and "WY1 Special Edition."
■ Specialized for ACG music and IEMs
The most significant feature of the W4-ACG is that, while based on the W4, which is highly acclaimed for its transparent and pure sound, it has been completely re-engineered internally, not just through software processing, to optimize it for ACG (Anime, Comics, Games) music. The chip's signal transmission path has been strengthened by increasing the PIN configuration, and the register setting area deep within the chip has been thoroughly refined. This achieves extremely clear music reproduction.
Additionally, the W4-ACG features a tuning mode called "STL ACG (tentative name)" optimized for the hardware mentioned above. Building on the highly praised LP6 platinum, which had limited distribution, this model incorporates a uniquely adjusted chip and thorough adaptive design. It features a dedicated circuit design to reproduce ACG music with the utmost vividness and delicacy, from the initial attack to the lingering decay of sounds.
Furthermore, it adopts a low-voltage, high-current output design. This is to fully unleash the potential of low-impedance, high-sensitivity IEMs/wired earphones by not applying excessive voltage, but rather ensuring the necessary driving power and control. For earphones, if the output voltage is too high, volume adjustment tends to become overly sensitive, affecting the ease of handling subtle, easily buried signals. On the other hand, by providing robust current supply capability, it helps tighten the bass, improve transient response, and stabilize the sound's contours. For users who want to drive CIEMs (in-ear monitors) or high-quality wired earphones delicately and stably, this unit is designed to be particularly well-suited.
■ Equipped with LO OUT to leverage DAC capabilities, a highly requested feature
While the W4 boasts high decoding performance and low-distortion PO output, this unit further implements a dedicated LO (Line Output) with optimal parameters, designed for combination with the company's portable amplifiers. After repeated verification to find the best match, an optimal fixed voltage output was achieved. This maintains the best balance, preventing gain distortion and dynamic range collapse when combined with the EA4 series. While enhancing the standalone completeness as a DAC AMP, it also demonstrates its capabilities as an upstream device for decoding when needed.
■ Beautiful appearance with a unique presence
This will likely be the first product (as of our research on April 24, 2026) to feature a dongle-type DAC with a copper body finished with a precise mirror polish. Production is planned for a limited worldwide release of 499 units.
Based on the design and processing expertise cultivated with the EA4 Limited, the exterior employs a precise polishing process. While highlighting the unique texture of mirror-polished copper, it is further treated with a titanium nitride coating to enhance surface hardness and scratch resistance, ensuring the exterior finish remains beautiful for a long time. Copper, as a material, tends to directly reflect the quality of its finish on its appearance. Even slight differences in precision show on the exterior, so the polishing quality, surface flatness, and surface treatment were meticulously pursued to achieve a level of perfection befitting this unit.
■ Dedicated case to protect the unit
A dedicated genuine leather case, which conceals the beautiful luster of the mirror-finished copper, is included. The material used is cowhide leather with a distinctive bloom. It is vegetable-tanned leather with an Italian-style wax finish, and its texture deepens with use. The interior of the case features an 8-layer structure and is compatible with magnetic attachment using N52 neodymium magnets. It prevents deformation and gently protects the mirror-finished casing.
