MEFISTO adopts a multi-driver system to create a precise sound profile. It utilizes two types of proprietary drivers developed in-house to meet demanding ideals. The newly developed ARIA™ enriches high-frequency harmonics, while the horizontally opposed dual LCP drivers deliver controlled, deep bass. Four BA drivers meticulously reproduce the subtle nuances of the mid-range. By precisely controlling these seven drivers to complement each other, MEFISTO achieves a semicircular soundstage, as if you were on a small theater stage.

ARIA™ is a high-performance planar magnetic driver developed by Forté Ears exclusively for MEFISTO. Featuring a nanoscale thin-film diaphragm and powerful magnetic field drive, it boasts high control, high sensitivity, high resolution, and high transparency. By naturally enhancing the entire overtone structure, it brings deep luster and emotional expression to vocals, both male and female. Furthermore, it had to be carefully integrated into the crossover to form a smooth cohesion with the soundscape and was precisely tuned. This exquisite design creates a breathtakingly realistic and harmonious sound image.
Newly developed benchmarks. Next-generation LCP dynamic drivers
The next-generation 7.8 mm LCP diaphragm significantly improves rigidity, responsiveness, and vibration damping. PET and paper composite materials, due to insufficient rigidity and unwanted resonance, increased distortion and tended to make the low-end boomy. After several test models to achieve the ideal characteristics, we successfully combined high-purity LCP with optimal damping control. As a result, we dramatically improved speed, transient response, and reduced distortion while suppressing excessive resonance. While maintaining natural warmth, we achieved a tight and richly nuanced low-end, setting a new benchmark for current dynamic drivers.
Proprietary Low-Frequency Optimization Mechanism "Diabolic Isolation System (D.I.S.)"
This proprietary low-frequency optimization mechanism was developed to fully unleash the MEFISTO's ultra-low frequency performance. The dedicated bracket, which positions two next-generation LCP dynamic drivers with extreme rigidity, response speed, and vibration damping characteristics horizontally opposed, optimizes the internal air pressure of the sealed dedicated space to thoroughly suppress unwanted resonance while maximizing low-frequency energy. This precisely designed bracket firmly holds the two LCP dynamic drivers and perfectly aligns their vibration axes, precisely controlling piston motion. It generates deep, wide, and dense bass that completely overcomes transient delays. The overwhelming and immersive low-end created by the rich and powerful sub-bass extension precisely depicts everything from the weight of cinematic percussion to the subtle body resonance of a wood bass. It brings a unique depth and majesty without ever compromising speed, accuracy, or musicality.
Sophisticated crossover control "Forte Circuitry Relay (F.C.R.)"
We've recalibrated the F.C.R., now incorporating valuable 1990s Japanese-made vintage inductor coils. The 4-way crossover design, exclusive to MEFISTO, aims to make each driver function as a single, integrated acoustic system. This system, capable of controlling electrical signals and relays at a micro-level, meticulously tunes complex acoustic circuits, eliminates frequency overlap, and optimizes output efficiency. By precisely controlling each driver to perform at its best within its assigned frequency band, it eliminates phase shifts and overlaps, creating a delicate yet powerful sound profile that balances sonic continuity with density. It forms the foundation for enhancing bass stability while dramatically improving the intricate and emotionally rich mid-high frequencies and the depth of soundstage reproduction, portraying every sound with high transparency.
Acoustic Resonance Chamber (A.R.C.) acoustic resonance technology for natural sound reproduction
A.R.C. (Acoustic Resonance Chamber) is an internal resonance space designed by a master engineer, who is also a musician, based on the principles of acoustic engineering, inspired by small speakers and musical instrument soundboxes. By interacting with the chamber, each driver's potential is fully unleashed, converting vibration energy into natural reverberation. This enhances sound clarity, depth, and three-dimensionality, allowing for a dramatically rich overtone sound without compromising the fidelity of the original sound.
Hand-cast pure silver faceplate
Inspired by the church scene in "Faust," this piece features a three-dimensional sculpture of a devil's claw mark and stained glass motif, carved from pure silver.
